Ms. Sherry

Hi, I am Ms. Sherry and I am the administrator of King’s Grant Day School. I have been in the education/counseling field for over ten years. I have a BS in psychology from George Mason University and a MA in counseling from Liberty University. My overall goal for KGDS is to ensure that each student receives an excellent education in a nurturing environment. On a personal note I have been married for over fifteen years and I have two wonderful children. I hope to see you at KGDS. If I can be of assistance please let me know.

Ms. Diane

As business manager of King's Grant Day School and Academy of Early Learning, Ms. Diane manages accounts receivable, credit and collections functions, ensuring timely processing of billings, payments, and collections for our program revenue. She also oversees financial planning, acquisition, corporate development, and finance support for all business operations. She is here to answer any questions that you may have about our wonderful school or if you should have any questions about your account you may speak with her anytime.

The Following are a few rules I like to live by:

Make eye contact.
When someone is speaking, keep your eyes on him or her at all times.
If someone makes a comment, turn and face that person.

If you win or do well at something, do not brag.
If you lose, do not show anger. Instead, say something like, "I really enjoyed the competition, and I look forward to playing you again," or "Good game," or don't say anything at all. To show anger or sarcasm, such as "I wasn't playing hard anyway. You really aren't that good," shows weakness.

If you are asked a question in conversation, you should ask one in return.

If someone asks, "Did you have a nice weekend?" you should answer the question and then ask a question in return. It is only polite to show others that you are just as interested in them as they are in you.

We thank you for your interest in AEL and KGDS or being a part of AEL and KGDS family we look forward to many years of superior education together.

Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been.  ~Mark Twain,

If you don't have a smile, I'll give you one of mine! Ms. Diane

Ms. Tamara

I am fairly new at KGDS, however, I have eight years of experience in child care. I am working on a degree to become a special education teacher with American Sign Language as my minor. I also volunteer my time with the Girl Scout's and I'm happy to say I have been a leader for almost 2 years. I enjoy working with the 2 year olds and seeing their different personalities as they grow.

Ms. Betsy

Hello, my name is Ms. Betsy J. I grew-up in Norfolk, Virginia and graduated from Maury High School. I have attended ODU as well as many Early Childhood development classes. Currently I am attending TCC to get my associates in Early Childhood Development. I live in Virginia Beach, am married and a mother of four children. I enjoy gardening and embroidery in my free time. Most of all I enjoy children and feel privileged, to be blessed, to help be a part of children’s lives.

Ms. Alicia

It has been a pleasure working at KGDS. I'm a teacher assistant and general assistant. I have worked at KGDS for 3 years. I started as part time and I am now employed as full time. Over the past 17 years I have worked two jobs. One with Virginia Beach Public Schools in food services and the other with Sentara Home healthcare as a C.N.A. for 5 years. I have a son John in the US Navy. He is married and has 2 children Nichola and Nataniel. I also have a daughter Catherine. She's married, however she has no children yet. I'm looking forward to our new school year and I'm at your service.

Ms. Connie

Hello, my name is Ms. Connie and I have lived in either Norfolk or Virginia Beach most of my life. I am married to Rick, am the mother of two, and have two grandchildren. I have attended Tidewater Community College and have many hours of training in Early Childhood development. I have worked with children for over twenty years now. I enjoy gardening and have incorporated that into my teaching program, planting and growing a flower garden with the four-year-old classes each year.

Ms. Venita

My name is Venita, and I am grateful to say, I have been employed at KGDS for over 3 years. I am the Office Manager at the present time.
I am a student at Tidewater Community College majoring in General Studies. I would like to thank all the parents for giving me an opportunity to be a part of your children lives.

Mr. Lee

I have been teaching children for the past 5 years. I enjoy teaching as I love to see children light up when they get the answer. I am currently working on my master’s degree from the University of Phoenix online in elementary education. I have been married for 5 years and live in Suffolk, VA with my husband and 3 labs.
