TWO–YEAR-OLD CLASSES
LANGUAGE
Language development and listening skills that include names of colors, basic shapes, animals, countries, community helpers, transportation, health, safety, manners, as well as science exploration.
NUMBERS
Simple counting 1-25, Number concepts 1-10.
SPANISH
Exploration of a different culture & language through translation of familiar words and numbers.
MUSIC
Social group activity is reinforced through listening to music, learning songs and finger plays. Music is not only for the enjoyment of the students but for friends and family at special performances.
ARTS/CRAFTS
Fine motor skills development using various mediums such as crayons, paints and glue. Basic drawing instruction is taught with an emphasis on individual creativity.

THREE–YEAR-OLD CLASSES
LANGUAGE
Recognition of names, sounds and pictures for short vowels and consonants. Formation of vowels and consonants in upper and lower case. Language development and listening skills that include color words, shapes, animals transportation, countries, community helpers, health, safety, manners, science.
NUMBERS
Simple counting 1-30, Number concepts 1-15.
SPANISH
Exploration of a different culture and language through translation of familiar words and numbers.

Social group activity is reinforced through listening to music, learning songs and finger plays.

PHONICS & READING
Recognition of name, sound, and picture of long and short vowels and consonants. Sounding of blends and one- and two-vowel words. Reading of sentences and stories with one-and two-vowel words.
POETRY
Students will learn twenty-eight poems and finger plays throughout the school year.

FIVE-YEAR-OLD CLASSES

Reading of sentences and stories from twelve books containing one- and two-vowel words and special sounds. Recognition of sentences by capital letters and punctuation, such as periods.

King's Grant Day School offers AFTER SCHOOL care for students through age 12. Transportation is provided from elementary schools in the surrounding neighborhood area. Please call for information on specific schools and transportation details. After school care includes a HOMEWORK HELP session for students who choose to participate. A snack and drink is provided and there is plenty of time for games and socializing with peers in the afternoon. Outside play is included when weather permits, this is not only fun but a good way to encourage exercise and physical activity.
