CORE VALUES
1. Centrality of the Bible
2. Biblical worldview
3. Christian parents
4. Christ-likeness
5. Quality education
6. Church
7. Stewardship
Core Value #1 – Centrality of the Bible
The Bible, God’s written Word, is pre-eminent in the life of the Christian. Divinely inspired and inerrant, it is authoritative for all life including the life of the Christian School. (Proverbs 3:1-5, Psalm 119, John 17:13-19, Colossians 3:16, Joshua 1:8, II Timothy 3:16.) King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will govern itself according to Biblical principles. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will integrate the Bible into every aspect of the school’s life. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will utilize a Bible curriculum which teaches sound doctrine and equips students to defend their faith.
Core Value #2 – Biblical Worldview
Education is never neutral. God's Word is the foundation for all knowledge. Christian Education must ensure that students learn about the world and their place and tasks in it from the perspective of a Biblical worldview. (Acts 17:16-34, Colossians 2:8-10, Hebrews 1:1-2, John 1:1-5, Romans 12:1-2.) King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will assist parents in providing a Christ-centered environment so that students will not be conformed to modern philosophies but transformed by the renewing of the mind to God's Word. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will challenge students to develop a Biblical worldview so they will be able to intellectually engage the culture for Christ.
Core Value #3 – Christian Parents
God has given parents the primary responsibility for bringing up their children in fear and admonition of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 6:6-9, Ephesians 6:1-4, Proverbs 22:6.) King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will partner with parents of children enrolled at the School to help meet their parental responsibilities. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will communicate to parents, students, and staff the importance of parental involvement in quality education. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will provide training and resources to help parents establish and maintain a Christ-honoring home.
Core Value #4 – Christ-likeness
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. (1 John 2:6) King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will employ and/or appoint, develop, and retain board members, faculty and staff whose actions and attitudes model Christ.King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will train and encourage students to apply the qualities of Christ in their own lives. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will equip students to communicate their faith to others. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will develop discipline procedures based on Biblical principles that lead to Christ-like behavior.
Core Value #5 – Quality Education
Each student is a uniquely wonderful and marvelous creation of God and will be accorded dignity, worth, and nurturing by King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School staff. We will strive to instill an excitement for learning within all students, as well as the desire to recognize and develop their God-given talents. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will develop an educational program that is based on God’s Word with Jesus Christ at the center of the curriculum. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will employ, develop and retain Godly teachers who model Christ in their everyday lives and set Christian examples for the students. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will use curriculum and methods in the classroom that reflect God’s truth and prepare students to go into their homes and communities as servants of Christ. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will provide a nurturing environment with quality instruction that will challenge students and foster an eagerness for learning.
Core Value # 6 – Church
The church has been and always will be the instrument of God to fulfill God’s purposes on earth. The church is the expression of God’s Kingdom to the world. (Acts 2:42-47, 20:28, Ephesians 1:23.) King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will strive to strengthen the church. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will require its board members, administration, faculty, and staff to be members or seeking membership of a Bible-believing church.
Core Value #7 – Stewardship
Every aspect of Christian education must be considered a stewardship responsibility from God. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will provide students with an education that will develop the whole child – spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will provide, develop, and maintain facilities in a way that will honor the Lord and meet the needs of students. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School will seek opportunities to serve the community in a Christ-like way.
PHILOSOPHY OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
As Christian educators we want to train our children in the ways of our Lord. In Proverbs we are called to “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School School’s educational philosophy is to provide a Christian-centered, academically sound education to each student so that when they leave our school they will be able to continue to be children of the Lord. Children should be grounded in Biblical moral values, patriotism, citizenship, moral character, and superior academic knowledge. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School adheres to the objectives:
1. To lead children to a personal knowledge of Christ as Savior.
2. Prepare children spiritually, instilling in them a love for the
Lord
Jesus Christ and a sense of responsibility to be all God wants them to be.
3. To encourage children to think clearly, logically, and independently.
4. To offer instructional programs that meet children’s academic needs.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
- We believe the Bible to be the holy, inspired, infallible Word of God providing strict rules of faith and practice. (I Tim. 3:16-17, II Pet. 1:20-21)
- We believe in one God, existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ, His sinless life, sensational death, glorious resurrection, and imminent return. (Deut. 6:4, Heb. 1:3, II Cor. 13:14)
- We believe salvation comes by faith alone and exist in the repentant heart, and absolute committal of one’s self to Christ as Savior with purpose to love and obey His written Word. (Acts 4:12, Rom. 3:21-26, Rom. 5:8-10, Eph. 2:4-10)
- On earth, we are ambassadors for Jesus. Our command is to re-establish a testimony for God and His law in this nation and to equip our children to do likewise. We therefore believe it is our duty to teach them to keep covenant (maintain fidelity in their allegiance) with God, as our forefathers did. We believe in patriotism that promotes devotion to God and country.
(II Ch. 7:14, Ps. 33:12, Mt. 28:18-19, II Cor. 3:6)
STATEMENT OF NONDISCRIMINATION
King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School admits students of any race, color, nationality and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.

SECTION 4
PARENTAL AGREEMENT
It is the belief of the administration that parents are critical in educating their children. We assist the parents, but do not replace the parents. Students will not excel academically or develop spiritually without parental involvement. Therefore, parents should actively supervise their students in homework and test preparation. With parental reinforcement, discipline problems will be kept to a minimum. Parents may receive occasional phone calls from teachers or the principal, director; this is to insure adequate communication between the school and the parents in order to quickly alleviate problems that would otherwise persist. Teachers will make efforts to keep parents informed of their child’s disciplinary, social, and academic performance. However, it is the parents’ responsibility to initiate communication with the teacher or school administration if they have a concern. Parents will also be asked to help with school functions (fundraisers, field trips, etc.).

CURRICULUM
King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School utilizes the A - Beka curriculum. A - Beka is a Christian based curriculum used by thousands of Christian schools throughout the world and is based on its strong academic foundation, emphasizing a phonetic approach to reading, traditional methods of Biblical, moral, and character development.
DISCIPLINE
In order for students to grow and mature, they must accept the responsibilities and obligations of good citizenship, which enables self-discipline, reasonable standards of behavior, and a favorable atmosphere for learning and enjoying life together. Discipline and order is vitally necessary to achieve the goals of superior Christian education and childcare. Students cannot effectively learn academic subject matter or spiritual values, when discipline is disregarded. The principal, director, and teacher administer discipline with love and instruction. We believe that teachers should be respected by the students and that teachers have the authority to maintain classroom discipline and enforce school policy. Discipline is basically positive training in the right direction. However, the school will not tolerate continued behavior problems. It is important for the parent to take proper action at home so the teacher’s time is not consumed with behavior problems. If a parent is called due to a disciplinary problem, the student must be picked up within the hour. Students not picked up within the hour may be terminated without further notice. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School utilizes a token system to reinforce positive behavior. Each student is given the opportunity to earn tokens daily for displaying positive behaviors. King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School has created our very own “School Store.” The tokens that are earned are used to shop at this store every Friday. Our younger students, ages two to three years old, use a combination of daily treasure box and the token system to reinforce positive behaviors.
WITHDRAWALS/TERMINATION
All withdrawals from King’s Grant Academy and King’s Grant Day School must go through the school office. A two week written notice is required prior to the withdrawal of a student. The school reserves the right to drop a student for reasons of non-cooperation, delinquency in payment of fees, or the inability of a child or parent to adjust to the school program. Student records, report cards, information, etc., will not be forwarded to another school, to another day care, to the parent, until all financial obligations are paid in full.

Homework will last approximately one hour each day, usually between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Behavior problems will not be tolerated during homework time. Students who misbehave, play, talk, or disrupt the class during homework will not be allowed to participate in homework for the rest of that day. Students who continually misbehave during homework will not be allowed to do homework at the school. KGDS may cancel homework time if our homework teachers are absent or we are short of staff. Parents should check their child’s homework for completion and accuracy each day. It is the student’s responsibility to participate in and complete their homework.
Parents of after school students should look at our school calendar for school closings and early dismissals. Parents needing extended care for their child when the public schools are closed and we are open must register their child with the school office at least one week in advance. Extended hours may be denied otherwise. We must have time to arrange/adjust teacher schedules for extended hours.

PARTIES
Your child’s class will be planning parties throughout the year. All food/party items brought in for a party (including birthdays) must be purchased from a store and in its original container in order to ensure safe handling practices. For convenience, the school attempts to plan all parties (like Thanksgiving) for all classes on the same day. If you do not want your child to participate in a party, it is your responsibility to make other daycare arrangements for your child. A student may not sit in the reception area or in the office on party days. Office staff is in and out and unable to provide proper supervision.
VIEWING OF STUDENT RECORDS
Student records are treated as confidential material, and the rights of privacy for each parent and child are safeguarded. Upon request, a parent or guardian may view the child’s records.
ADDRESS/PHONE NUMBER CHANGE
Any time an address or phone number (home, work, and/or cell) is changed the school office must be notified immediately.
TUITION
Tuition may be paid weekly, biweekly, monthly (calculate the number of Mondays within the current month and multiply that number by your child’s weekly tuition in order to determine the tuition due for that month), semester, or yearly, in advance. It is important that tuition be paid on time so the school will have the proper funds to operate in an efficient manner. Payments not received in the office by the time the school closes on Tuesday will automatically be assessed a $25.00 late fee. Remember, tuition reserves the student’s classroom place. If tuition laps one week without office approval, the student’s place may be forfeited and given to someone on our wait list. There are no deductions in tuition due to illness, holidays, inclement weather, unforeseen events, or vacations other than 5 free vacation days per year (See section on Vacation Days). Should it become necessary to take legal action for past due accounts, all attorney fees and court costs will be paid by the parents or guardian if judgment is found against the parent or guardian.
REGISTRATION FEE
A registration fee is due every September or upon enrollment. The registration fee will hold a students place for the current school year. The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Should a student withdraws or is terminated during the school year and then returns, a new registration fee must be paid.
RETURNED CHECKS
Checks returned for insufficient funds will automatically be assessed a $35.00 fee. After two (2) checks are returned due to insufficient funds all future payments must be made with a certified check, cash, or money order.
VACATION DAYS
All students will receive five (5) free “vacation days” during one academic school year. Students who attend only KGDS summer program will not receive five (5) vacation days. A student terminated or who voluntarily withdraws during the school year shall forfeit their vacation days. Vacation day shall not be used the first month of enrollment.
